Bullpups Win 4 of 6 in GSL Tri-Meet

Spokane, WA - The Gonzaga Prep boy's and girl's distances teams took home four of the six running events in a Greater Spokane League tri-meet versus Ferris and Mead yesterday, March 27, at Mead High School.

Freshman Noelani Krauss won the girl's 800 and 1,600 meter races running times of 2:32.56 and 5:27.8. Leah Carney finished in second behind her teammate in both races running 2:35.73 in the 800 and a personal best 5:29.68 in the 1,600.


Jonas Bears crushed the 3,200 meter boy's race for the Bullpups with a personal best time of 9:36.4.


Samuel Anderson won the boy's 800 race with a time of 2:03.43, a personal best for him.


Korey Anthony (2nd) and Andrew Bennett (3rd) were also top three finishers in the boy's 800 for the Bullpups as they ran 2:06.36 and 2:15.79.


Rounding up the success for the Bullpups was a second place finish from Jacob McIntyre in the boy's 1,600 as he ran 4:39.18, a personal best.


In other races, Ferris' Jonah Bloom won the boy's 1,600 in a personal best time of 4:36.4 and Mead's Ashley Rose won the girl's 3,200 in another personal best time of 12:22.14.


As a whole, both meets saw all schools represent each other in the top three in each distance race.


Mead's Daniel Jarvis (10:00.05) and Eli Gilbert (10:01.94) were second and third in the boy's 3,200, and Alanna (12:27.49) and Alexis Parker (12:27.66) were also second and third in the girl's 3,200.


Abigail Driskel was third in the girl's 800 for the Panthers as she ran a personal best 2:42.9.


Ferris' Justin Stripe (4:43.29) and Annalise Toillion (5:50.81) were third in their respective 1,600 races.


Gonzaga Prep and Ferris will be at the Howard Dolphin Invite this Saturday, March 30, and Mead will have their next meet on April 11 at University High School.
