Flashback Friday: Kira Harrison

Considered to be the best girl distance runner in Meridian track and field history, Kira Harrison left a long-lasting legacy of breaking records and winning multiple state titles that will be remembered by those in the Laurel and Whatcom County community.

-Meridian High School (1999-2003)

-2x 2A State Champion in 1600 (2002-2003)

-Placed 4 times in the 800 at State (2000-2003)

-Personal best 1600 in high school: 5:01 (school record)

-Personal best 800 in high school: 2:12.44 (school record)

-Personal best 3200 in high school: 11:46.05

-Set the 2A state record in 1600 in 2003, now is broken

-Runner up in the 800 2A State race senior year

-Set a meet record at the 2003 Davis Invite in the 1600

-Played soccer for 4 years and led Meridian to a 2nd place finish at 2A State in 2001

-University of Washington (2003-2007)

-Collegiate best mark in 800 meter outdoor: 2:09.26 (2004 NCAA Regional, placed 11th)

-Collegiate best mark in 1500 meter outdoor: 4:29.83 (2004 Oregon Invite)

-Collegiate best mark in 800 meter indoor: 2:11.77 (MPSF Championships 2004)

-Collegiate best mark in Mile indoor: 4:51.51

-Collegiate best mark in 5000 meter XC: 17:31

-Collegiate best mark in in 6000 meter XC: 22:21

-Earned Academic All Pac-10 honorable mention in 2004

-Won the 1500 her freshman year at the Ken Shannon Invite

-6th all time on UW's indoor 800 meter list

-10th all time on UW's mile list

-Has run on three of UW's fastest DMR teams in school history
