Lynden Christian boy's and girl's distance teams won both the 1600 and the 3200 yesterday at Lynden Christian High School in the Christian School Invite.
Eric Steiger won both events running 4:36.08 in the 1600 and 11:03.92 in the 3200. Teammate Brooks DeWaard got plenty of 2nd place finishes in his three yesterday as he ran 2:09.76 in the 800, 4:38.5 in the 1600, and 11:03.04 in the 3200.
Between Steiger and DeWaard, the LC boy's track team got a total of 44 points scored from those two.
The Lady Lyncs took the top 4 spots in the 1600 as junior Cindy German won with a time of 6:25.09. Her teammates finishing in the 2nd-4th place spots were Brianna Veenstra (6:25.30), Ashley Lingbloom (6:35.31), and Lucya Rasmussen (7:03.27).
Senior Lingbloom won the 3200 in a time of 14:05.12 and teammate Katie Dougan finished in 2nd in 14:22.38.
LC's top 800 runner was Veenstra finishing 2nd with a season best time of 2:54.27.
