Tacoma, WA - With the absence of Kobe and Caden Deutscher, the Pope John Paul II boy's distance team had an unfamiliar face win multiple events in sophomore Mattox Marsh.
Marsh won the boy's 800 and 1,600 meter races running 2:17.75 and a personal best 5:02.87.
Pope John Paul's Brendan Perez was second in the 1,600 and third in the 800 with times of 5:05.61 and 2:23.19.
Joseph Harris was second in the 800 running 2:18.21, and placed fourth in the 1,600.
Christian Faith's Reece Binder won the boy's 3,200 meter race in a time of 11:06.10. He also placed third in the 1,600 running 5:07.15.
Pope John Paul's Jacob Braun and Puget Sound Adventist's Bauer Meeks were second and third in the 3,200 as they ran 11:31.47 and 12:33.98.
In the girl's meet, Clare Kondrat leads Pope John Paul with a win in the girl's 1,600 running 5:57.72, a personal best, and a second place finish in the 800 running 2:43.53.
Maggie Larson won the girl's 800 for Pope John Paul with a personal best time of 2:41.71.
Holley Nichols was second in the 1,600 and third in the 800 with times of 6:06.23 and 2:45.27.
Muckleshoot Tribal's Rosalie Fish ran 12:47.49 in the girl's 3,200 to take first place.
Fish won girl's 400 meter race too with a personal best time of 1:02.24.
Other top finishers from their schools were Evergreen Lutheran's Sara Overfield in the 1,600 (3rd, 6:12.19) , Puget Sound's Natalie Noel in the 1,600 (4th, 6:25.18) and 3,200 (2nd, 13:39.66), and Pope John Paul's Emeline Russell in the 3,200 (3rd, 14:19.62).
