Last week around the county we got a first look at a ton of talented distance runners at different meets. In the second week of competition, there will be more smaller meets along with the first invite in Whatcom County this spring. Here are the meets to attend this week.
Wednesday, March 21:
-Sehome, Blaine, and Nooksack Valley at Nooksack Valley High School at 3:30
Powerhouse Sehome versus smaller school Nooksack Valley will feature some great competitors like Alyce Harlan and Logan Clabaugh from Nooksack and Rosie Kirker and Lucas Cunningham from Sehome.
-Meridian, Lynden Christian, and Anacortes at Anacortes High School at 3:30
A meet of traditional great running programs in the Northwest Conference will meet each other for the first time this year. Jaskaran Dhatt from Meridian, Eric Steiger from LC, and Logan Hanrahan from Anacortes are the top runners on the boys side, while McKenna Holz from Meridian and Saville Feist from Anacortes highlight the girls meet.
-Sedro Woolley, Mount Baker, and Bellingham at Civic Stadium at 4:00
A meet to be surely dominated by the Bellingham boys and girls teams in all three distance events. Grace Much and Ty Veldhuisen of the Red Raiders ran very well last week and look to continue their success this week.
Friday, March 23:
-Bedlington Twilight Invite at Lynden High School at 3:30
The first invite in Whatcom County this year will feature all 11 schools in the area. All three distance races will have competitors who competed at the state cross meet last fall and state track meet last spring at all levels. The first distance race will begin at 3:50 with the 1600.
