Meets To Attend: Regular Season Concludes

With postseason just right around the corner, Whatcom County schools wrap up with a few meets this week. Here are the final regular season meets of the year in the area.


Wednesday, May 2nd

Squalicum, Burlington-Edison, Meridian @ Meridian High School 3:30

-Meridian's boys and girls teams square off against upper division school in prep for the 1A Districts, taking place at Sultan High School next week. Squalicum's Jonah Salomon is coming off a 4:32.58 performance in the 1600 at the Tomahawk Invite.


Blaine, Lakewood, Lynden @ Lynden High School 3:30

-Lynden sophomore Isaiah Ellis ran his best race of the year last Saturday at Lakewood where he ran 4:30 in the 1600. Tate Hutchins looks to go after the Lynden 1600 school record once again. Taylee McCormick of Blaine and Kornelija Houston of Lynden highlight the girls meet in the 800 and 1600.


Anacortes, Mount Baker, Lynden Christian @ LCHS 3:30

-The LC senior duo, Eric Steiger and Brooks DeWaard, run one last time on their home track. Both go down as two of the best runners in Lynden Christian track and field history. Bridgid Cronk of Mount Baker won her first ever high school race last week at Civic and runs her final races of her high school career.


Bellingham, Ferndale, Sehome @ Civic Stadium 3:30


- Bellingham's Annika Reiss and Sehome's Cameron Hodges potentially meet for the 1st time this season in a preview of a postseason matchup in the 1600. Landon Sturdevant comes off his record breaking performance at the Shoreline Invite becoming the first freshman in Ferndale history to break 2 minutes in the 800.
