The Northwest Conference Athletic Directors and track and field coaches met in the off season with an idea of cancelling the annual NWC Track and Field Championships held at Civic Stadium, and it was agreed upon by all 14 schools that there will no varsity meet this year to crown a Northwest Conference champion. However, there will be meets in the area to go watch track and field, specifically out in the county.
Tuesday, April 17th
The LC Christian School Invite @ Lynden Christian High School, 4:00
-The Lyncs will host 4 other Christian schools from around the state of Washington in this annual event. Bellevue Christian, Cedar Park Christian-Mount Lake Terrace, Mount Vernon Christian, and Shoreline Christian will be attendance.
Thursday, April 19th
SQHS JV Invite @ Civic Stadium, 4:00
-Without a Northwest Conference JV Championship, Squalicum will host Ferndale, Bellingham, and Sehome to replace the annual meet. This gives the JV level kids, who don't always win their events against top varsity athlete, a chance to perform well and even place in the top 3.
Friday, April 20th
Whatcom County League Meet @ Meridian High School, 4:00
-5 of the original Whatcom County League teams(Nooksack, Blaine, Meridian, Mount Baker, and Lynden) will square off at Meridian High School, along with LaConner High School. This meet is to sure be a classic one featuring top competitors from all high schools including Tate Hutchins and Nick Kildall from Lynden, Alyce Harlan from Nooksack Valley, and Kenny Barnes and Abbas Theophilus from Meridian.
Saturday, April 21st
King's Invite @ King's High School, Shoreline, Washington
-Lynden Christian travels to Woolsey Stadium for another Christian school invite featuring King's High School, Cedar Park Christian School, Northwest Christian-Lacey, and Mount Rainier Lutheran.
2018 Nike Eason Invite @ Snohomish High School, 10:00 A.M.
-Mount Baker, Bellingham, Squalicum, and Lummi head to Veterans Memorial Stadium in Snohomish, Washington for the largest meet on the west side of the mountains, The Eason Invite. Other featured schools in attendance will be Chelan, Edmonds-Woodway, Liberty (Issaquah), West Valley (Spokane), and Republic.
