Pullman's Kabasenche, Hyatt Win Two in GNL Dual

Pullman, WA - Eliason Kabasenche and Ryan Hyatt of the Pullman Greyhounds won two races in their respective meets yesterday, April 10, in a Great Northern League dual versus the East Valley Knights.

Kabasenche won the boy's 800 and 3,200 meter races in times of 1:59.56 and 10:30.07 and Hyatt won the girl's 1,600 and 3,200 in times of 5:39.9 and 11:57.


Kabasenche, the defending 2A boy's cross country state champion, ran a new personal best in the 800, and Hyatt too ran a personal best in the 1,600.


Pullman's Patrick Nairimo won the boy's 1,600 running 4:45.58 and also placed second in the 800 with a season best time of 2:06.5.


Nicole Jones and Madeline Jones finished first and second in the girl's 800 running personal best times of 2:39.92 and 2:40.69.


Other top finishers from the Greyhounds were Kylie Franklin in the girl's 1,600 (5:46.76, PR) and 3,200 (12:20.4, PR) placing second and Scott Carlson in the boy's 1,600 (5:04.8) and Jesse Rector in the boy's 3,200 (10:36.8, PR) placing third.


East Valley's Trevor Weberg ran 5:00.85 in the boy's 1,600 and Jack Weidman ran 10:31.24 in the boy's 3,200 as both place second in their races.


Will Sharp was third in the boy's 800 running 2:09.17.


Sabrina Sharp placed third in the girl's 1,600 and 3,200 in times of 6:06.74 and 12:35.28, a new personal best.


Also placing third from the Knights was Mackenzie Allen in the girl's 800 as she ran a season best 2:46.56.


What's Next? Both Pullman and East Valley will be at the Nike Van Kuren Invite this Saturday at Spokane Falls Community College.
