Sedro-Woolley, WA - The Sedro-Woolley Cubs claim all three distance races in a tri-meet versus Lynden, Blaine, and Nooksack Valley on Wednesday, March 13, at Sedro-Woolley High School.
Rafe Holz was the most dominant of the three runners for the Cubs taking the win in the 1,600 by 19 seconds over Lynden's Isaiah Ellis (4:51). He ran a personal best time of 4:32.
Brandon Sterling also ran a personal best time in his 800 victory running 2:17 beating Nooksack's Josh Steele (2:19) by two seconds.
Lachlan Boyd won the 3,200 in 11:16 over Lynden's Carson VanCleve (11:21) completing the distance sweep for the Cubs.
The other top three finishers in a race for the Cubs was Ben Peden in the 800 where he ran 2:19.
Ellis' and VanCleve's second place finishes in their races were the top performaces for the Lions.
Landen Carlton of Blaine finished seventh in the 3,200 running 12:49.
In the girl's meet, Blaine's Taylee McCormick was second in the 800 and first in the 1,600 to lead all Borderites. She ran 2:45 and 6:00 for season best times.
Lynden's Savonne Sterk won her first ever 800 race in high school running 2:43 beating McCormick.
Lily Snow of Nooksack placed first in the 3,200 running 15:16. She also placed fourth in the 1,600 with a time of 6:32.
Sedro's Natalia Taylor placed second and third in the 1,600 and 800 races in 6:11 and 2:54.
Sedro, Lynden, Blaine and Nooksack will be back together in action next week at the annual Bedlington Twilight Invite on March 22, which is held at Lynden High School.
