Lynden - Senior Eric Steiger of Lynden Christian adds on another win to his impressive track season as he runs to a 2:00.71 victory in the 800 yesterday against Anacortes and Mount Baker at Lynden Christian High School.
Steiger moves up to the 2nd spot in the 1A Bi-district in the 800 after running nearly 6 seconds faster then his previous best mark of 2:06.15 from last season. He is now ranked in the top 3 of all the distance races in 1A Bi-districts as well.
Lynden Christian's John DenHartog won the 3200 with a personal best 10:20.69. Senior Brooks DeWaard placed 2nd and 3rd in the 3200 and 800 for the Lyncs. He PR'd in the 800 running 2:07.62.
Nico Johnson of Mount Baker won his first ever high school race as he ran 5:05.67 in the 1600 for his best mark of the season. Peter Adams ran a personal best time in the 800 of 2:07.38 as he finishes in 2nd in the race.
Although the Anacortes girl's swept all three of the distance races, Lynden Christian had three girls in three races place in the top 3. That was a lot of three's!
Tara Hollander (800) and Brianna Veenstra (1600) placed 2nd in their respective races and Cindy German placed 3rd in the 3200.
Baker had 2 personal best performances from Brigid Cronk in the 1600 and 3200. Shay Knutson placed the highest for the lady Mountaineers going 4th in the 800 running 2:48.24.
