Mattawa, WA - Wahluke High School hosted a total of 17 schools in the first invite of the track and field season in the state of Washington yesterday, March 15, featuring 2B powerhouse Liberty Bell in the girls meet.
Liv Aspholm and Icel Sukovaty won both their races for the Mountain Lions as Aspholm ran the 800 in 2:35.92 and Sukovaty ran the 3,200 in 12:23.15.
Both times are season best marks for the Liberty Bells runners.
Okanogan's Lexi LaDoux also ran a season best time of 5:53.34 to win the 1,600. LaDoux also placed third in the 800 running 2:45.52.
Madison Clark of Wilbur-Creston took second in the 800 and 1,600 races with times of 2:38.82 and 5:59.3. Her mile time is a new personal best.
Invite host Wahluke saw one of its athletes finish top three in the 1,600 as Claudia Olivares ran 6:15.5.
College Place's top runner was Melia Loe in the 3,200 with her third place finish and a time of 13:14.6.
Loe was also fourth in the 1,600 running 6:22.32.
On the boy's side, Kyle Parries of East Valley of Yakima placed first overall in the 1,600 and second in the 800 running two personal best marks.
Parries ran 5:01.64 in the 1,600 to win by a second and 2:15.77 in the 800.
Okanogan's Clancy Andrews had two second place finishes in the 1,600 and 3,200 running 5:02.27 and 10:59.53. Both are season best times for Andrews.
Tanu Buck won the 800 for Wahluke running 2:08.49 and Manson's Connor Torgenson won the 3,200 in a personal best time of 10:59.53.
Athletes to round up the top three placings in each race were Emerson Worrell from Liberty Bell in the 800 (2:19.6), Bailey Cameron from Manson in the 1,600 (5:05.32), and Logan Strozyk from Wilbur-Creston in the 3,200 (11:16.43).
