10/8/19 Recap: Saints Stay Undefeated in KingCo Meets

REDMOND - For the third time this season, the Interlake Saints boy's and girl's programs come out on top in another KingCo meet defeating host Lake Washington, Sammamish, and Mercer Island at Marymoor Park on October 8.

The No. 6 boy's team in 3A scored 20 points with all seven varsity runners finishing in the top 10 led by Sasha Picciotto and Carlos Besana, who were second and third running times of 16:28.3 and 16:32.4.


Other top performers from the Interlake boys were Kaeden Brinkman (16:34.1, 4th), Justin Blunden (16:42.3, 6th), Santiago Reyes (16:47.2, 9th) and Jasper Chattra (17:10, 10th) helping the Saints to the win.


Rachelle Cormier and Clarice Mauer placed third and fourth running times of 20:01.3 and 20:57.1 in the girl's race for the Saints as they helped the first place team score 30 points.


Interlake's Harinidhi Kesavarajan was sixth running 21:12.3 and Renee Ruan was eighth in a time of 21:24.9.


Sammamish's Hale Behan won the boy's race in a time 16:23.8, while Lake Washington's Belle Brandenfels and Ankita Kumar place first and second in the girl's race running times of 19:08.5 and 19:48.4.


Lake Washington's Luca Andonian and Mercer Island's Santiago Reyes placed eighth and ninth on the boy's side running 16:46.6 and 16:47.2.


Finishing up in the top 10 on the girl's side were Mercer Island's Alli Hixson (21:00, 5th), Lake Washington's Chloe Cook (21:17.2), and Interlake's Emily Change (21:34.7, 9th) and Veda Reddy Singireddy (21:41.9, 10th).


Sammamish's top girl was a 12th place finish from Ashlyn Hairston in a time of 21:43.1.


What's Next?

Sammamish, Lake Washington, and Mercer Island will travel to Smokey Point for the Nike Hole in the Wall Invite at Lakewood High School and Interlake will travel to Lacey for the Bill Kehoe South Sound Invite at Saint Martin's University on Saturday.

East Valley vs. Cheney

- Bas Holland takes the win in a Great Northern League meet in a time of 16:16, leading the No. 3 ranked Blackhawks to a 17-46 win over the Knights. The No. 7 Cheney girls were perfect scoring 15 points led by first place finish from Samantha Habegger in a time of 20:52.



Deer Park vs. Colville

- No. 4 ranked Deer Park girl's for the 1A's pulled off a six point victory over Colville, 25-31, led by Adele Schick's second place run in a time of 20:43. Colville's Alaina Stone won the race in a time of 18:13.



Nisqually #3 at Vashon Island

- Adam Briejer and the ninth ranked Charles Wright boy's scored 29 points en route to their team win over numerous Nisqually league teams. Briejer ran a time of 16:16 to finish in first place.
