UW Commit Leads Lions to Team Win Over Capital Eagles
BOISE, ID - Borah's Nathan Green continues his winning ways with an impressive debut at the Capital/Borah Dual on Saturday, September 19, heading into his senior season.
The recent University of Washington commit ran a 5k time of 15:49.48, moving himself into the No. 1 spot for the fastest time in all of Idaho this season, and led the Lions to a 20-38 win over the Capital Eagles.
Last season, Green ran a 5k personal best time of 15:00.3 and won his second consecutive IHSAA 5A state cross country title. He also finished 11th overall at the Nike Cross Nationals in Portland, Oregon earning All-American honors.
Borah's Quincy Ellis and Michael Nsengiyuma finished right behind their teammate placing second and third overall running times of 17:26.75 and 17:32.83.
Other scorers for the Lions were Miles Hone-Langdon and Alekai Morgan finishing sixth and eighth in 18:30.17 and 18:46.05.
Nick Taylor and Isaac Antonnen were the Eagles top finishers placing fourth and fifth running 18:14.34 and 18:15.92.
On the girl's side, the Eagles took first by score of 25-32 led by last year's District 3 champion, Tiffany Thomas, first place finish running a time of 19:47.9.
Top scorer's for Capital were Penelope Frizzell (4th, 21:15.89), Aubrey Salyards (5th, 21:28.08), Anna Boettcher (7th, 21:56.96), and Avery Konecni (8th, 22:21.09)
Borah's Megan Conner and Abby Rowedder were second and third running 20:56.86 and 21:08.86.
