The Washington State Cross Country Coaches Association Coaches Poll was released this Sunday featuring some of last years state champions at ranked No. 1 in their respective classifications.
Highlighting the polls are defending 3A state champions North Central girls and defending 4A state champions Tahoma boys.
The North Central girls won their second consecutive state title last fall by scoring a new state meet record of 21 points. Seniors Erinn and Mia Hill and junior Allie Janke look to lead the Indians to another dominant season.
The Tahoma boys won their second state title in the last four years beating Central Valley by two points.
In other rankings, the Camas girls come in at No. 1 at the 3A ranks. The defending 3A state champions Glacier Peak girls are placed at No. 3 after winning the programs fifth state title in the last nine years.
After claiming a seventh consecutive state title, the Sehome boys come in at No. 1 for the 2A ranks. The West Valley girls won their first state title last fall in 32 years and are ranked No. 1 in 2A.
Cascade of Leavenworth tops the 1A boys over defending state champs Lakeside of Nine Mile Falls. The Lakeside girls are No. 1 in their poll after winning the schools fourth state title.
The Northwest Christian boys of Lacey and the Liberty Bell girls are once again the No. 1 preseason ranked teams at the 1B/2B level.
