Top 5 Girls to Watch in 2018 XC


Annika Reiss, Bellingham

After recovering from an injury track season, Annika Reiss's quest for a state title is right in front of her. The senior leads a heavy loaded Red Raider team this fall after running 17:35 for a personal best the season before. She finished 2nd individually at the 2A State Cross Meet, while her team placed 3rd.

Rosie Kirker, Sehome

Another runner last spring who dealt with injuries, Rosie Kirker is back to once again run well this fall for the Mariners. Ran 18:08 for a personal best and placed 8th at the 2A State Cross Meet last season. Led the Mariners to a state best 10th team title in program history.

Aspen Allsop, Sehome

An impressive fall showing for Aspen Allsop last cross season. Help the Mariners to another state championship title, while also placing 11th individually at the state meet. Ran a personal best time of 19:02.

Jaclyn Denham, Ferndale

Another young runner from Ferndale High School who made a name for herself in both cross and track, Jaclyn Denham was the only Golden Eagle to qualify for the 3A State Cross Meet last fall. Ran 19:10 for a personal best time last season.

Grace Much, Bellingham

Grace Much is one of many Red Raider girls to return to a super talented team this fall. Help the Raiders to a 3rd place team finish at state while placing 23rd overall in the 2A State Cross Meet. Ran 19:15 for a personal best.


Others to Watch This Season:


Livi Lackland-Henry (Bellingham) - A great first year of cross country last fall. Ran 19:16 for a personal best time.


Jess Gill (Sehome) - Impressive track season last spring running 5:17 in the 1600 and 11:30 in the 3200, looks to build on the momentum.


Kendyl Otter (Meridian) - The senior has been part of 3 teams to qualify for the state meet since her freshman year. Ran 19:55 last fall.


Juliette Haggith (Mount Baker) - Has qualified for the 1A State Cross Meet her first two years of cross country. Top returner for the Mountaineers (20:35).


Lily Snow (Nooksack Valley) - Went to the 1A State Cross Meet as a freshman last fall, top returner for the Pioneers (20:38).
