Bellingham, WA - After a great, and chaotic week at the Nike Hole in the Wall Invitational, the 6th edition of the High School cross country polls were released Sunday night by the Washington State Cross Country Coaches Association. Here is where you favorite teams are at.
The Sehome boys bumped back up to No. 1 in the 2A poll after having finished 3rd as a team at the Hole in the Wall Invite in the division 2 race, replacing Washougal who is now at No. 2. Meridian is No. 2 in the 1A polls as they did not compete in competition this week. Lakeside Nine Mile Falls remains No. 1 for the 1A's.
Sehome and Bellingham girls went down to No. 9 and No. 10 in the 2A poll. Sehome finished 6th at the Hole in the Wall. Selah jumps to No. 1 over Pullman, who has dropped to No. 3 for the 2A poll.
The Meridian girls had the weekend off but still remain at No. 7 in the 1A poll. The Northwest School takes over the No. 1 spot and Lakeside Nine Mile Falls drops down one spot to No. 2 after not racing this weekend.
The 4A boys poll had some changes with Camas taking over the No. 1 spot, while Tahoma and Redmond drop to No. 2 and No. 3. However, both Redmond and Tahoma defeated Camas at the Hole in the Wall Invite on Saturday as both teams took 1st and 2nd place team trophies.
A Great Spokane League battle took place this past Saturday with the North Central girls from 3A and Lewis & Clark girls from 4A finished 1st and 2nd as teams in the division 1 race at Hole in the Wall Invite. This earns them the No. 1 ranking in their respective classification.
Kamiakin boys stay at No. 1 in the 3A ranks. They competed in the Richland Invite on Saturday and finished 2nd as a team in the Junior/Senior race behind 4A school Central Valley.
Northwest Christian-Lacey boys and Liberty Bell girls are No. 1 in the 1B/2B polls for a 6th consecutive week in a row.
The coaches polls are compiled by WSCCCA Vice President Phil English with input from advisory board members and meet directors.
