Bellingham, WA - Conference championships are coming up this week and will show who has been running their respective conference this season. But first, lets take a look at what has gone down in the high school cross country polls for week 7.
2A boys saw the No. 1 and No. 2 change again this year with Washougal moving up to the top spot and Sehome dropping back down to No. 2. Washougal was first as a team at an invite in Oregon last Saturday and Sehome did not compete on the weekend.
The Selah girls are No. 1 for a second week in a row. Sehome moves up one spot to No. 8, while the Bellingham girls stay at No. 10.
Lakeside-Nine Mile Falls remain No. 1 in the 1A boys ranks, while University Prep takes over No. 2 and Meridian falls to No. 3. University Prep has won three of its four Emerald City League meets this season. Most recent the Pumas have won two in a row.
The Northwest School and Lakeside-Nine Mile Falls stay No. 1 and No. 2 in the 1A girls ranks. Meridian falls to No. 8 after being at No. 7 last week. The Northwest School is undefeated this season in league meets.
The 4A and 3A boys polls have the same No. 1 teams. Camas stays put in the 4A polls and Kamiakin remains the top team in the 3A polls. Both schools had the weekend off.
Just like the boys polls, Lewis and Clark from the 4A and North Central from the 3A are No. 1 again for this week. The Tigers and Indians will go to battle this week to prove who is the best team in the state in their local dual meet.
For the first time this season, Asotin High School is the No. 1 team for the 1B/2B boys poll after Northwest Christian-Lacey had been on top for the first 6 weeks of the season. But, the Liberty Bell girls remain No. 1 in the 1B/2B girls poll for a 7th week in a row.
The coaches polls are compiled by WSCCCA Vice President Phil English with input from advisory board members and meet directors.
