Wendell's Duran Keeps Winning Streak Alive at Magic Mountain Invite.

Sophomore runs a PR to win her fourth race of the season.

KIMBERLY, ID - Wendell's Jessica Duran continued her winning ways for a fourth consecutive meet as she won the Magic Mountain Invite girls race on Thursday, September 17, 2020, at the Magic Mountain Ski Resort in Southern Idaho.


Last years 4th District champion ran a new 5k personal best time of 19:32, 13 seconds faster than her previous best from her first race of the year, and won by almost 20 seconds over Raft River's Kaybree Christensen, who finished in a time of 19:51.


Along with this win, Duran was also the champion at Cardinal Classic and Filer Invite two prior to this meet.


Kaybree's sister, Karlee Christensen, was third overall running a time of 20:34 and the Trojans won the team title scoring 30 points defeating Kimberly.


Allie Black and Libby Boden were two other team scorers for Raft River finishing in the top 10 placing eighth and 10th running 22:38 and 22:48.


Lucy Whitney and Alli Stastny placed fourth and fifth running 21:29 and 22:22 for second place Kimberly who scored 40 points. Reece Garey was also in the top 10 for the Bulldogs placing seventh in a time of 22:25.


Third place Oakley came away with 68 points led by Emree Larson's sixth place finish in a time of 22:22.


Filer's Christa Edler was ninth running a time of 22:42.


On the boy's side, Valley's Garrett Christensen was in total control of his race running a time of 17:19 and winning by almost one-minute picking up his third win of the season.


Christensen's teammate Tex Godfrey was third running a time of 18:20.


The Buhl Indians took first as a team scoring 38 points with four runners finishing in the top 10, led by Josh Loveless's fourth place finish in 18:32.


Adam Atkinson (5th, 18:40), Jake Kelsey (8th, 19:21), and Colby Ridley (10th, 19:26) were among the other top four for Buhl.


Kimberly was second with 58 points with Justin Bybee and Ben Child placing seventh and ninth running 18:57 and 19:21.


Carter McLaughlin of Gooding was the runner-up finishing in a time of 18:18, while his team was third scoring 59 points.


Oakley's Leo Magaña was sixth running 18:43.
